When Big Mountain's first single "Touch My Light" was released, it was rare to hear reggae on mainstream radio. When the song became one of the most played songs in Los Angeles, and DJ's began splicing the Spanish and English versions of the song and creating their own bilingual remixes, Big Mountain landed a slot on the United States Reggae Sunsplash Tour. Everything changed when their reggae version of Peter Frampton's "Baby I Love Your Way" was featured on the soundtrack of the Wynona Ryder movie Reality Bites. The single reached #2 on the U.S. charts and stayed in the top ten in Europe and Japan for months. Big Mountain would go on to tour 30 countries and sell over three million records. After three albums with Warner Records, Big Mountain began recording on its own label, Rebel Ink. The band released four more albums, and is back in the studio again.
