the stove is not fully installed yet i am going to put up something to shied the tarp from the heat and make a flange so that the stove pipe dose not touch the plywood. we have only had very very small attended fires in it and it works fine.
also this shanty is not meant to be lived in for more than a week at a time, and is only designed to last five years by than we hope to have a real cabin built, i expect to change the tarp from time to time.

UPDATE 5/21/2013:

Unfortunately the structure was destroyed and removed by someone who honestly thought they owned the land. He could be in the same boat I am, But, by chance, he filed the deed first. See below.
I really wanted to know how well The structure lasted that Winter But that information is unknown at this time. I feel that the aggressive angle of the roof and Slippery tarp would have shed all of the snow But we may never know.

This property is located in what is known as a race district. Meaning the laws in that area (As it relates to real estate) gives land ownership rights to the person who files the deed first IN THE CASE THAT THE SELLER TWO-TIMES YOU AND SELLS A PROPERTY TO TWO OR MORE PERSONS. (This is where the Insult two timer comes from) This is more common than you would think with rural properties and easier to get away with Due to the fact that the parties may not visit the property often. The vast majority of areas inside the USA ARE NOT race districts. Also you are NOT required to FILE YOUR DEED with the town, county, or state. You can simply pay the taxes to the previous owner, One would choose to do this for anonymity sake and because this is legal way to keep the govt. out of your business. The only actions that can be taken against the (two timing thief) Is it civil Meaning you don't risk going to jail Just a monetary civil lawsuit If your husband happens to be a lawyer it is a great incentive to two time in these race districts Since the legal costs will be nil if it comes to that. Also if you don't plan on developing the land for many years You may not find out someone else has rights Until you want to sell.
