Nancy Schaefer famously fought corruption in Child Protective Services while serving in the Georgia State Senate. Nancy and her husband died on March 26th, 2010. Authorities said the official cause of death was murder-suicide, but given her work against powerful corruption, and a number of suspicious circumstances surrounding her death, many people believe she may have been killed for exposing the disturbing practices of CPS and that her death may have been part of a cover up to protect a corrupt and abusive system.
