Circle Complete is an outdoor sculpture installed in the Webster Woods of the Port Angeles Fine Art Center (PAFAC).

Backstory: PAFAC's home is the Webster House donated to the city of Port Angeles with a trust to pay for its existence by Ester Webster. She's included in the video with a passing photo. The building is a half circle structure designed to maximize the hillside view of the Straight of Juan de Fuca while providing a private interior space.

Circles carry great weight both visually and theoretically and my natural inclination as an artist in seeing a half circle is to complete the circle. That's exactly what I have done with this piece creating a slightly scaled down footprint elsewhere on the property to complete the circle. Over time, there is a good chance that the blackberries I cleared on the hillside will overtake the structure filling in, climbing on, and completing the cirlce in a green way. The Circle also represents, and is an homage to, the tenure of the current director Jake Seniuk who will be retiring June 30th after building PAFAC's reach and reputation for the past 23 years. HIs journey, that circle, is soon to be complete.

The piece was installed June 2-3rd, 2012.

Music is from Jack White's latest album Blunderbuss and the song is On and On and On. If you like it, buy his music as I have and click on the link provided by YouTube.
