"You have to understand, Katie, I love you. And...I'll never really leave you."
This is truly one of my favorite Skins relationships. Despite how different the two are, the trajectories of both their storylines were actually very similar--it was all about finding identity, which is especially difficult when you feel like yours has always been intrinsically tied to someone else. For Emily, I think she spent a long time believing that she could never be her true self if she was constantly attached to Katie. For Katie, I think she believed that the slightest separation from Emily would somehow shatter who she was as an individual. The beauty of that struggle is that they were both wrong to a certain extent--there was a balance to be found without sacrificing their unique bond with each other. And ugh, do I miss these two. Rant over. :D
Thanks to Elise (lostalongthewayy) for the gorgeous coloring! :)
