Guys! I got an email! Check it out!

Hey Dan! In your video ''Suffocation's Suffocation" you make an interesting point on the net-value of files. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ot-Of9...

Consider this; CAD files are used for 3D printing, and downloading these files would be akin to downloading a 'free' music file. However, with 3D printers the accessed files can be used to print the design at a price considerably less than what it could be bought for legitimately. I believe this to be as real a matter as theft since one would gain a physical object of actual value, as opposed to a music file which is digitally available to anyone. What do you think? Keep doing your pogobat-ing -A huge fan.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o5j3m2... GET IT!? A huge fan!? Anyway... I disagree with you big fan man: if I torrent a CAD file and print myself out a... robot mouth... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dD_Ndn...

...nobody is suddenly missing a mouth! I haven't stolen anything so much as I've cloned something. Now, you may be saying "But Dan! Don't you owe the designer of the robot mouth SOMETHING?" and, I mean, as much as I appreciate their contribution to society, no. I owe them exactly nothing. Their design is a piece of digital media, and digital media is infinitely duplicatable. There is exactly zero scarcity, so what exactly am I paying for? I mean, I can tip them to show appreciation, but that's not capitalism: that's generosity. I mean, I'll be the first to admit that this flies in the face of every capitalistic instinct that's been hypnopaedically repeated to us since birth... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_4pXu...

...but capitalism for its own sake is not worth protecting. That it's becoming less tenable in the media world is empowering to the masses and disempowering to whichever cable monopoly makes your life miserable every chance they get. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6G-wN...

We need to change the way we think about file sharing. Torrenting is not a crime: it's a form of communication that should be protected by the first amendment. ThePirateBay is not some criminal enterprise: it's a modern day Library of Alexandria... granted, with a few more porn ads...

Man, I need some positive affirmation. Let's read some comments from last week's Pogobat, shall we? id15yes2 says: [GFX of actual comment] "You don't use doping to seem smart, right?" Aww, thanks! Nope! The only dope I use only makes me seem smarter to myself... for a few hours... then I realize that chocolate-covered Funyuns would actually be kind of gross... Julie Halligan says: [GFX] "DAN BROWN I LOVE YOU. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING. I WOULD TOTES HUG YOU!" Physical touch is one of my love languages! I would totes accept that hug! You guys know me so well. Tony f says: [GFX] "Dan is sexy with messy hair." [Goofy shot w/messy hair]. Sun Dust says "Jesus imaginary christ, enough with the Rubik's cube shit already!" [Quiet and surprised] Oh... you didn't like it? Oh...okay [Blocks Sun Dust] Why didn't I do that a long time ago? And now Ben with a reason the terrorists hate us!

If you don't mind, I'd like to end this week's episode with some pop-culture poetry.

Justin Bieber needs a prostitute like my gonads need a swift kicking.

That is to say that he doesn't. Or at least he shouldn't... That he might have is sickening.

When sex symbols must pay for that which they stand for, what does that say for everymen Dan and George?

Must we all pay, every single day, just to give our right hands a three minute break?
