(WSB Radio) -- A group of black clergy says the CRCT cheating scandal is a witch hunt against Georgia's black teachers.

About two-dozen members of a group called "Concerned Black Clergy of Atlanta" held a news conference Monday to speak out against teachers going to jail for cheating on the exams. They are also telling elected officials and the media to "stop the attacks on public schools."

"Show me any situation where persons who cheated on a test went to jail," Reverend Timothy MacDonald demanded.

The group says the whole investigation is a waste of millions of taxpayer dollars.

The state is investigating widespread cheating in the Atlanta public schools, with teachers accused of changing students answers to the correct ones.
