HIMEHINA 2nd original song "Skylarks" (ヒバリ/Hibari)

Now available (give it a listen!)

Liner Notes‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐
I feared that one day, the world would fall to ruin. That human culture, the Iron Kingdom and even the Valley of Electric Light would be lost. I feared that human greed would consume the earth and turn it into a wasteland.

If that were to happen, I wished to at least leave song behind for the future.

Skylarks, fly high and sing
Skylarks, fly high and bring back dawn
so that one day
we can watch the sunrise again, together

Lyrics‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐‐

Fall, falling, twirling leaves
Silence, coldness, a gentle breeze
A sky that screams for dawn

They hold out through the long, black night of death
Searching for the deep, dark comfort of the earth
On the dawn of the new world, they'll spread their wings
and fly up high

Skylarks

The Madams plAyed God, they were so conceIted
They loved the world and went on to destroy it
Anyone, any one, any thing that got in their way eliminated
Everybody was caught up in their ego
Nobody could put up any resistance
"It's not enough, never enough, we don't want to die"
The grown-ups howl in their metallic voices

"We doin' holy war for luv"
I don't want to hear it anymore
Syndrome:IN LOVE
Oh, just stop already

If we weighed and cut out our hearts and sold them,
would we find happiness at long last?
We want to get away from
this artificial longing and this deceitful, empty world
Where did you hide our souls?
Tell us, God, science, and Eve
Two angelic maidens dance to a poetic song
with skylarks flying high

"Digital reincarnation, mechanism and evolution
Corniculata must sprout and grow where humans fall and cease to be
I'll leave behind two skylarks when I go
that they may cross from this sky to the next
and at least carry over song, shining on, forever"

That was the picture book you read to us
Hey, Lilian
Please tell us you love us
It's fine if you don't actually do - just say it this once!

Are you smiling there on the other side?
Have you found happiness at long last?
We're still Oxalis
and now it's too late to say "sorry"
Why couldn't we do it back then?
We hid away our sad memories in the wind
and bring this song to you
Two angelic maidens dance across time
with skylarks flying high

If I disappear, you need to keep on smiling

If you disappeared, I couldn't keep on living

Always rejecting, loving,
hating, breaking, but still clinging and living on

If we weighed and cut out our hearts and sold them,
would we find happiness at long last?
We're stuck in this showcase
Can't get out anymore, hoping for a key that'll set us free
Where did you hide our souls?
Tell us, God, science, and Eve
Two angelic maidens dance to a poetic song
Let's go once they announce that dawn has come
Those skylarks flying high
