These guys were fishing on the Huntington Beach Pier in California and one caught a Bat Ray and this was the part when they were hauling it up. They had multiple hooks in it and were dragging it around in the water for about 30 minutes before finally getting it close enough to haul onto the pier. They were so excited. After letting it flop around and bleed for a while, they shoved it back off the pier and it belly flopped into the water. Needless to say, I think it probably died and washed up to shore days later.
