There is broad agreement that enhanced physician-patient communication is critical to improving healthcare quality, outcomes and medication compliance, as well as reducing costs. This is an ideal time to look at physician-patient relationships, how they interact and analyze what is working...and what needs to change functionally to improve communication.

The Affordable Care Act and other healthcare trends are driving the need to improve physician-patient communications. Systems like ACOs expect and anticipate that behaviors will change, and the pressure is on for physicians and patients alike to communicate better with each other.
