Running an operation that minimizes inventory & turns leaves little margin for error. Logistics team resources are stretched thin. Companies are increasingly turning to TMS and WMS to provide efficiency and cost savings. But even with the latest & greatest technology, much of the savings is left undiscovered.
This is what we're seeing: 1. Awkward Workarounds: Don't conform your process to the software- make the software conform to your process.
2. Making changes without first modeling the impact: Use TMS to implement your redesigned network, not your "as-is" process, or an unproven concept.
3. Incomplete Implementations: Teams should be trained to use all the functionality of a new system, not just the basics. We often see this when implementation consultants take their expertise with them when they leave.
