About Navigate:

The Navigate Program (formerly named Gateway West) opened in the City of Corner Brook on the Grenfell Campus, Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2004. The program is designed to address the needs of potential entrepreneurs in the pre start-up phase of business development, and connect those individuals with various resources, programs and agencies that exist to meet their needs. Young entrepreneurs commonly contact Navigate at the "idea" stage of their enterprise, well in advance of when they would normally be visible to or aware of the various supportive agencies and programs that exist within government or in the community.

Navigate also acts as a means of promoting entrepreneurship among students, staff, faculty and alumni of Memorial University -- Grenfell Campus and the College of the North Atlantic -- Corner Brook Campus. The program has two offices, one located on the Grenfell Campus in Room AS 2001 and the other located at the College of the North Atlantic, Room 143B.

The focus of the Navigate Program is three fold: students, innovation and the environment. The program will achieve its aims by providing clients with:

Activities to assess a person's entrepreneurial potential
Idea generation for potential business opportunities
Assistance in business planning -- how to write a business plan
Assessment skills in marketing, finance, product development etc...
Direction on where to find information for a business plan, i.e. funding sources, financial planning, market information etc...
One on One business counseling service
Networking and mentoring opportunities with fellow potential entrepreneurs and established business owners
Over the past eight years the Navigate Program has played an integral role in the creation of 37 businesses and more than 87 full and part-time jobs in the Greater Corner Brook/Western Newfoundland region.

We invite you to drop by the Navigate Offices at any time. It will be our pleasure to meet with you and discuss any business ideas you may wish to consider developing in the future.
