In this heatless curling hair tutorial for medium long hair, I’m going to show you how to curl your hair with markers and pencils (or any similar tools like make-up brushes, chopsticks, etc.). This cheap, easy, and quick no heat curling method will give you beautiful and natural looking curls and cute beachy waves. This curly/wavy hairstyle is long lasting, and it’s perfect as an everyday hairstyle for school, work, or special events like dances (Homecoming & Prom), dinner dates, and birthday parties. If you enjoyed this video, don’t forget to show your friends how to curl your hair without heat and try this method together with them! :)

If you’re having some trouble with this hair tutorial, try the tips below for long lasting curls:
1. If your hair is thick and long, divide it into more smaller sections (6-8) and use more tools. For bigger and looser curls, use markers. For tighter and smaller curls, use a thin pencil.
2. You can purchase the butterfly clips at Wal-Mart, Target, or Dollar Tree (I saw a pack there for only $1!)
3. Don’t try this tutorial right after you wash your hair. You hair should only be 20-30% damp. This will not work well with wet hair.
4. Wait for your hair to be COMPLETELY dry before taking the pens/pencils out. This is very important if you want long-lasting curls.
5. If your hair doesn’t hold curls well, then you can dampen your hair with hair mousse instead of water. When you have your curls, give it a light mist of hairspray for extra hold.
6. If your hair tends to get frizzy, I’d recommend using an anti-frizz hair serum afterward to tame it down.
7. Keep practicing! After several times, you’ll know what will work best for your hair.
8. If all else fails, you can try my other heatless curling tutorials to see if they are better for you. :)
