The most grueling race in inline, the points elimination (read bottom for explanation). This was also arguably one of the best displays of team skating for this type of race. PS team skating is perfectly legal in inline speed skating. Steve had helped me win the 5k points race a day before and it was my turn to return the favor. Watch the point tabulator at the bottom of each point lap and check out the USA junior men domination of 2001 =] Enjoy Final results: 1) Steve Krawulski, USA: 81 points 2) Me: 66 points 3) Felipe Mora, Chile: 19 points Explanation: The Points Elimination is just how it sounds, a combination of a points race and an elimination race. The two races are slightly staggered though, meaning the point laps are on even laps and the elimination laps are on odds laps. So, not only do you have to balance sprinting to the line to collect points, but you also must make sure not to get eliminated while you are resting. Each time the bell rings, the next time we cross the line points are awarded to 1st (3pts), 2nd (2pts), & 3rd (1pt). Then about half way through the race the points change to 1st (5pts), 2nd (3pts), & 2rd (1pt); and at the very end of the race the points are 1st (10pts), 2nd (8pts), 3rd (6pts), 4th (4pts), & 5th (2pts). If you don't quite understand the points or elimination part specifically, watch the points or elimination videos on my channel.
