A small brush fire broke out this afternoon in Santa Clarita, and the fire department was quick to respond, dispatching one of its most highly effective "in-close" aerial fire-fighting tools to help knock the fire down quickly. The Sikorsky S-70 Firehawk helicopter is the civilian version of the military's UH-60 Blackhawk, and has been outfitted with a 1000-gallon aerial drop water tank, along with other search and rescue equipment. The Los Angeles County Fire Department flies three of these helicopters - you can read more about them here: http://www.fire.lacounty.gov/airwildl...

This footage was shot with a Casio Exilim EX-F1 Pro high speed camera, at 300 frames per second, resulting in playback at 10 times slower than real life speed.
