Dr Tarit Mukhopadyay, a biochemical engineer from UCL Engineering, describes how his department's work with miniature bioreactors can speed up vaccine production. This method has successfully sped up the production of a whole host of valuable vaccines, including doubling the amount of anthrax vaccine available to the UK Health Protection Agency in case of biological attack.
