Megillat Esther read in the Style of the Spanish and Portuguese tradition.

With the exception of the Pesukei HaGeula, Megillat Esther is not read according to the Ta'amei Hamikra. Instead it is read according to an ancient fixed recitative.

Within the tradition the styles of Amsterdam and New York are virtually identical, while the London variant employs a more elaborated end for each verse.

The recording here by Hazzan Daniel Halfon is in the Amsterdam-New York style and is dedicated to the memories of Hazzanim Eliezer Abinun (z'l)and Abraham Lopes Cardozo (z'l).
