Two-time Palme d'Or winner Michael Haneke (The White Ribbon, Funny Games, Hidden) returns with his most moving film yet, Amour. Starring Jean-Louis Trintignant Emmanuelle Riva and BAFTA award winner Isabelle Huppert (8 Women, The Piano Teacher), the film is an intimate account of an elderly couple facing their greatest challenge in the twilight years of their lives.

Georges and Anne are in their eighties. They are cultivated, retired music teachers. Their daughter, who is also a musician, lives abroad with her family. The couple's bond is severely tested as Georges and Anne face up to sudden turning point in their lives.

Described by Peter Bradshaw as "film-making at the highest pitch of intelligence and insight" and awarded five stars, this is by the must-see film of the year.
