Edith Pearlman, 74, of Provincetown, was pronounced dead at the scene of a three-vehicle accident that occurred at about 11: 45 a.m. Thursday near Route 6 and Oakwood Road in North Eastham.

Officers, arriving at the scene in response to 911 calls, observed three vehicles to be involved in the crash. Wellfleet residents John Diblasio, 83, and Nicholas Gulde, 50, were transported to Cape Cod Hospital with serious injuries. The Eastham Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Wellfleet Fire Department and Lower Cape Ambulance Service. Eastham police, with the assistance of officers from Truro and Wellfleet, closed off Route 6 from Oakwood Road, detouring traffic to West Road, for three hours, while the cause of the crash was investigated. The crash remains under investigation by the Cape Cod Regional Accident Reconstruction Team, the Eastham police Department and Barnstable

On Thursday, May 12, 2011, at approximately 1144hrs the Eastham Police Department received several 911 calls stating that there was a motor vehicle crash in the vicinity of Route 6 and Oakwood Road. Upon arrival officers observed three vehicles to be involved in the crash. One of the operators, Edith Pearlman, age 74 of Provincetown, was pronounced dead at the scene. The operators of the two other vehicles, John Diblasio, age 83 of Wellfleet, and Nicholas Gulde, age 50 of Provincetown, were transported to Cape Cod Hospital with serious injuries. The Eastham Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Wellfleet Fire Department and Lower Cape Ambulance Service. The stretch of Route 6 in the area of the crash was closed for approximately three hours by the Eastham Police Department, with the assistance of the Wellfleet and Truro Police Departments, while the cause of the crash was investigated. At this time the crash remains under investigation by The Cape Cod Regional Accident Reconstruction Team, Eastham Police Department, and Barnstable County Sheriff's Department, Eastham Detective Adam Bohannon reported.
