The Amazon Day is being convened on September 19th during the International Conference on Sustainable Development (ICSD) organized by UN-SDSN at Columbia University. The ICSD thematic for this year is "The World in 2050: Looking Ahead for Sustainable Development" and the Amazon Day will discuss challenges and solutions, as well as explore potential pathways for the sustainable development of Amazon region in 2050. The Amazon Day is led by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network for the Amazonia (SDSN-Amazonia) supported by Amazonas Sustainable Foundation (FAS), UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UN-SDSN), UN-Environment, Brazilian Academy of Sciences, Organization of the Amazon Cooperation Treaty (ACTO), AMPA (Peru), Instituto de Investigaciones de la Amazonía Peruana (IIAP), Instituto Amazónico de Investigaciones Científicas SINCHI, National Institute of Amazonian Research (INPA) and the State University of Amazonas (UEA). The Conference will convene diverse stakeholders to debate and share knowledge relevant for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
