The fight against the Black Sigatoka disease continues and is said to be making positives strides towards the recovery of the country's dying banana industry. A drop in production was caused by a number of factors, which include the Disease and Hurricane Tomas. Through the introduction of a program to fight the disease and assistance from the government to farmers, a boost in production was reported at a press briefing on Monday.
