Hold Up

On Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., in the media gallery at headquarters, Hold Up Staff Inspector Mike Earl will update the media on developments in an armored car robbery investigation.

Armoured car robbery investigation,
Fairview Mall, Sheppard Avenue East/Don Mills Road

On Monday, January 20, 2014, at 10:25 p.m., police responded to a shooting call at the Fairview Mall at 1800 Sheppard Avenue East.

Police responded and located an armoured car in the parking lot.

It is reported that:

- two men, wearing balaclavas, interrupted at gunpoint the security guards who were making a delivery,

- shots were exchanged between one of the security guards and one of the men

- a quantity of money was taken and both men fled in a silver vehicle,

- the vehicle was located by police a short distance away

The armored guards were not injured during the robbery.
