Chris Ray, PhD (@pikaresearch), a wildlife biologist and pika researcher at the University of Colorado-Boulder, Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research, talks about the food needs of pikas that survive over the long winter on the hay piles they build up during the brief alpine summer. The effect of climate change on some key alpine plants is having an impact on pika survival in some harsh areas like Niwot Ridge. Learn more in this video.
