Swaddling is a great comforting technique, helping to soothe and calm a restless baby. It's important you get swaddling correct, your newborn baby will thank you. You can find more information in our blog post here: https://www.sudocrem.co.uk/antiseptic...

Some quick swaddling tips are included below:

1. Start with a diamond

Lay a baby blanket (100% cotton is good) on a flat surface, position it like a diamond, and fold down the top corner. Place baby on his back with his neck on the fold.

2. The right-side tuck

Hold your baby’s right arm down flat at his side. Pull the left corner of the blanket over his right arm and across his body, then tuck it under his left arm and roll him to your left to wrap whatever is remaining under his back. Tuck it in securely while making sure baby can still bend his hips up and outwards.

3. The left-side tuck

Hold baby’s left arm down and pull the bottom corner up over his left shoulder. Tuck any extra material around his left arm.

4. Wrap it up

Bring the loose right corner straight out to pull it taut, then pull it across baby’s front and roll him to your right a bit so you can wrap the corner all the way around his back.
