Today's video is a collaboration with Ava Jae, author of BEYOND THE RED. We're talking about chronic illness, how it influences our writing, what we choose to write about, disability representation, etc. - â open for more! â -
I have nuerofibromitosis, which causes chronic (daily) migraines. My health/disability influences my writing in several ways, from time management to how I write characters with limitations in my own stories. Accurate representation is really important to me. A good resource for learning more about proper disability representation is the Disability in Kidlit website. You should check that out if you're writing a book with disability or illness.
My name is Lily Meade. I love books! I like to live a life inspired by fiction. I truly believe that anyone can find their own happy ending, whether in a book or in real life. I am an aspiring young adult author. I absolutely love to read (especially YA fiction, but I read adult and nonfiction, too!) and write (novels mostly). I really love storytelling in any form.
On my channel you will find a variety of videos about my life, writing (including writing updates as well as tips and tricks), novel research, book recommendations, and more! IâÂÂm passionate about a lot of things and I like making friends. Thank you for watching my videos! Please say hello!
