25 Celebrities You Didn't Know Were African American!

Being racially ambiguous can mean smart business on the celebrity scene for our favorite actresses, models, and mega-star crushes. We will let you be the judge, check out 25 celebrities you probably had no clue had African American heritage!

Mariah Carey
While Mariah Carey may seem to forget a lot of where she comes from when it comes to manners and being nice to us "common folk" one thing she has always been proud of is her unique familial blood line.
Her father was of African American and Venezuelan ethnicity while, her mother is of white Irish descent.

Cash Warren
While Jessica Alba may seem like the bi-racial partner in her marriage with movie producer Cash Warren, he too is of ethnic descent. Cash is the son of Hills Street Blues actor Michael Warren.

Troian Bellisario
Pretty Little Liars actress Troian Bellisario may play a WASP (White Anglo-Saxon Protestant) on the show, but her bloodline speaks to a little racial mixology. Bellisario is actually the daughter of African American TV producer and actress Deborah Pratt.

Daniel Sunjata
Wouldn't you think Daniel Sunjata's golden skin tone and fine hair screams Latino? Well actually, Daniel is half African American and half Caucasian.

Rock star god Slash has always thanked his African American mother for the long, thick mane that adorns his head. While Slash enjoys being a part of the European heritage passed down from his father, he readily identifies with people of color.

Maya Rudolph
Bridesmaids star Maya Rudolph has nailed a number of racially ambiguous roles, but DNA can't tell a lie. Rudolph is the daughter to Minnie Riperton and music composer Richard Rudolph.

Nicole Richie
While Lionel Richie isn't Nicole Richie's biological father, that doesn't mean she doesn't have a dose of chocolate in her blood. Richie's biological dad Peter Michael Escovedo was Afro-Mexican. She also possesses Creole and Spanish ancestry.

Gabrielle Reece
Volleyball star Gabrielle Reece's father was actually Trinidadian. He died when she was just 5 years-old.

Soledad O'Brien
Have you really been wondering why Soledad O' Brien likes to appear in those CNN Black In America specials? Well, Brien's father is Afro-Cuban and her mother is Australian. Make sense now?

Wentworth Miller
Wentworth Miller has that whole rugged Caucasian guy thing down pact, but there is more to him than meets the eye. Miller was born in England to a black father and a white mother. His family later relocated to Brooklyn, NY where Wentworth was raised.

Meghan Markle
Meghan Mackle has her biracial roots to thank for that stunning bone structure. That's right, the "Suits" actress has an African American mother and a white father.

Rashida Jones
While Rashida Jones is the daughter to one of the world's most well-known musicians, people still fail to believe this girl is partly African American. Yes, Rashida Jones' father is in fact music mogul Quincy Jones! Her mother is Peggy Lipton.

Dwayne Johnson
Dwayne Johnson just couldn't be as fine without a little mix in his DNA, right? Johnson is actually part black and part Samoan

Vin Diesel
Vin Diesel identifies himself as a "person of color," but what color exactly is he speaking of? Diesel's mother is Scottish, English, and German but he never met his biological father. His stepfather is African American though.
