Crosman M4-177 or M417 product review. Release on November 2011, the M4 is a .177 caliber, the barrel is rifled, and can be shot up to 625 FPS. You have the option in shooting the rifle with either pellets or BB's. Enclose in the box is a rifle, 1 pellet clip, and a set of iron sights. The telescopic butt stock has 5 lock position and can be remove to be carried around like a close quarter combat weapon. The rifle has four picatinny rails to add scope, forward grip, laser, and light or in combination. The only negative thing I can think about it is... Since the rifle is a pump action, adding something like a forward grip or bipod may hinder full pumping action. In my opinion the barrel of the rifle is to long and should only protrude an inch after the hand guard. There is no point of adding too many picatinny rails if you can not use it or it gets in the way of something else. So anyways that is just my rant about M417. But for the record... I really like the rifle overall. I hope Crosman makes another one with that change in mind or some kind of after market company makes modified parts that tackles that issue.
