reuven zahavi genetic algorithms videos
A collection of art works presented at the Bio Design conference at the Science Museum of Jerusalem the 06.12.2013 on the use of genetic algorithms in my recent works. I start the presentation with some procedural generative projects with virtual creatures, agents, and drawing movements using different mixtures of randomness. Then I exposed the utility and specific use of genetic algorithms for the creation of four habitats- interactive artificial ecosystems - where "agents" are living, reproducing themselves, painting and drawing, designing their own environment: a puddle, an urban habitat, a text/xerox habitat and an under-skin/underground habitat directed by evolution process based on genetic algorithms. The exhibition " Pixels Habitat" was presented during 2012-13 at the Stern Gallery at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem.
At the end of the video I show some recent video works directly founded on the four Habitats.
