Full race highlights from the Maldon Dengie Tour, Round 1 of the British Cycling Premier Calendar 2012.

The gruelling race, dubbed "Hell of the East" took place on a challenging mix of road and narrow farm tracks between Maldon and the Dengie Marshes. The 104 mile race made its debut as part of the 2012 Premier Calendar series and did not disappoint.

The eventual winner was Alexandre Blain, a 31 year-old Frenchman from the Endura Racing team, who battled hard to cross the finish line ahead of Ben Grenda from the Ralpha Condor Sharp Team and Matt Cronshaw of Node-4 Giordana Racing.

Video highlights of all the 2012 Premier Calendar races are available on the dedicated BC Premier Calendar YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/BCpremiercalendar and all the latest information on the whole British Cycling Premier Calendar series can be found at http://www.britishcycling.org.uk/prem....
