For Round 3 of a contest...
All of my horses are incredible inspirations to me, my friends, my family and my boss... But i decided to do this video about Chic who truly never fails to impess me more and more.

A little bit of her background...
She was abandoned on a property sold to people who owned a little convenient store right down the road from my old barn. They kept her for a little while and took care of her but then sold her to the barn manager of my old barn and she sold her to the barn. That was around 9-10 years ago. She became my favorite lesson horse shortly after.
I rode her all the time and took her to our first show... I had many of falls and mistakes, and I learned so much on her. When I was 12 (6years ago) my parents said I could get a horse, I was so exctatic, so of course I went to the barn owner first... he would not sell her to me. About a month after I got my first horse (Twister), Chic was said to be going to auction, I cried and begged to everyone I knew and they decided to keep her around... she stayed on the market for sometime but was never sold. Over the next few years I watched her sulk... the once energetic athletic mare I grew up with was now an "old" nothing special-boring beginner lesson horse that just sat in the pasture... she would occasionally cause problems and get so sick of everything- and when I took her on trails she couldn't be happier.
An opportunity came by for me to buy her but it backfired and I was afraid I would end up losing her... I quit working at the barn in 2008- she was still there. I was devestated to leave her, but promised I would come back.
The first time I saw her again (after maybe a month) she neighed and came right up to me, like we were never apart. A few months later in December I traded my 4 year old filly for her and she was finally mine... over 5 years after the first time i tried to buy her.
It has been almost a year now since I have officially owned Chic and I couldn't be happier with the way it worked out. Since i've had her we've done so much more than i ever expected together. She lost her huge belly and got life back into her, prancing everywhere- she looked completely different after a few months. I found out she was probably 4 years younger than expected and she certainly acted that way. We've taken champ at small shows, and went XC schooling for the first time.. now schooling novice fences. It seems that things really do happen for a reason and I am so glad I finally got this horse. She will always be mine.

**inspiration part... She really inspires me with how much progress she's made, as well as how she's always willing to do things and never really seems to be 'down'. She's taught me so much and just continues to improve and she's always there when I need a mane to cry in. She really kept me into horses when I was younger and taught me that there was more to horses than just riding, I loved her like a best friend and I hope I can repay her at least a bit by just spoiling her and letting her live out her life incredibly happy.

Video is not too exciting, i'm sorry!! But almost to 200! I had better plans for this but it was due by the 27th! Almost everything is new in here- we had a nice schooling at FenRidge the other day :) and took some really nice fall photos! I got a new saddle as well :)
