On the night of June 9, 1998, Bill Fischer and I climbed into a Cessna 152 and joined the traffic pattern at the Santa Barbara Airport in anticipation of the closing of the old control tower. And a few seconds before 11pm, we received the last landing clearance ever issued by this facility. We landed on runway 7. Shorty after landing, we recorded the transmission that is included in this movie.
