'The Jet' is the holder of the Victorian, Australian and Australasian water speed record for 50 ci (850 cc) displacement hull speed boats. The record speed is 59.893 mph (96.38 kph) and was made on 1 May 1960. The Jet is now owned by Frank Wicks. He recently stripped and revarnished the hull. The very hotted-up Renault motor is as it was at the time it broke the records. It is using a surfacing propellor straight out the stern of the boat.
