After picking up Christian at his place, Winter gave me the directions to Jade's house. I drover to where she was telling me to go. I ended up in some RV park. I looked around at the place; I was never in this part of the city before.
"Right here." Winter pointed to a green RV with a close line set up outside and a dog lying down by the steps to the door. I pulled up to it and put the car in park.
Winter got out and said she'd be right back.
A few minutes later, Winter returned with a blond girl who also had her lip priced. The both of them got into the car.
"Guys, this is Jade. Jade, Christian and Justin."
"Hey," Jade said. "Which one is my date?"
"That would be me," Christian said.
I started back out the way I came. Christian and Jade were getting to know each other in the back seat while Winter and I remains quite.
We were going to some french place that I couldn't quite pronounce. Winter said she went there before with her last boyfriend and loved it there. So that's where the four of us where going.
I pulled up in the parking lot and cut the engine. We all got out and went in the building. It was pretty. The lights were dim and the whole aroma of the place was romantic. I really didn't expect Winter into a place like this. But I guess she's just full of surprises.
"Table for four." I say to the guy at the pullet. The guy nodded, taking four menus and leading us to a table.
We sat down and the guy said a waiter would be right with us.
"I would have never though you'd be into this kinda place." I say to Winter.
"I dunno.. I guess I just like the food." she said.
After a nice dinner, the four of us went back to my moms car. Jade said she and Christian were going to go to the mall. She asked if Winter and I wanted to go, but before I could say a word, Winter had already said no.
I dropped Christian and Jade off at the mall entrance then left again. Winter was being awfully quite.
"You okay?" I ask her.
"Um... yeah." She says. I could tell she wasn't okay though. There was something defiantly going on in her life that was making her upset, and I plan to find out what that is.
I pull up to the beach. Winter looks over at me. "The beach, really? Could you get anymore cheesy?"
"Just admit it; you like my cheesiness."
"Sure, whatever gets you through the day." I shake my head, a smile plastered on my lips.
I get out of the car and then go over to the other side to open the door for Winter. She gets out; I take her hand in mine and we begin to walk down to the water.
We walked barefoot in along the ocean shore. Our shoes in one hand, the other holding each others. And the cold ocean waves splashing agents our feet.
This was nice. And I knew, even though she'd never admit it, that she though it was nice too.
"Justin," Winter looked up at me.
"Yeah baby?" I ask her. She smiles at the face that I called her baby.
"I think I'm ready to tell you."
I nod my head, understanding completely. We walk over to the far end of the beach and sat down on a couple of rocks.
Winter looked down at her lap, fumbling with her fingers. I was just waiting for her to speak. She looked up and me and begun to speak. "I live with my parents, two brothers, Uncle Rod and Grandma Bettie." She paused for a moment. "My parents fight all the time. And they yell at my brother for being a drug addict, and they yell at my uncle for having strange woman in all the time. And then the yell at me, for being different. They say that I am a disappointment to them, that they wish I was like normal people." I felt bad for Winter. I didn't know she had so much going on in her life. I sat next to her and put my arm around her waist. "I just hate being at home." She lid her head on my shoulder.
"I'm here for you, okay? You can stay at my house when ever you want." I say.
She looked up at me. "Really?" Her eyes were watering.
"Yeah." She reached up and kissed me sweetly.
