Figurative and landscape painter, exploring the unusual in subject matter. My ideas are a bit above the norm, but incorporate the classical elements of painting. My work is a combination of Impressionistic plein air style for landscapes and illustrative for figures.
The Fast Food and Shopper’s Delirium series gives the average person a bit of the edge which sometimes get unnoticed. I find myself catching people off guard and this is what makes my painting unique. A never ending variety of subjects for me.
A series of plein air paintings were completed from a trip to the Burgundy region of Beaune, France. I tried to capture the magnificent light in the Impressionistic style. The countryside and small towns are ideal for plein air painting and were a joy to paint. I called this La Belle Lumiere de Beaune (The Beautiful Light of Beaune).
The series All Around the Town correlates New York City and San Francisco and is titled Eastside/Westside. My comparison of different areas in both cities has a bit of humor in their titles. These paintings were exhibited at Pleiades Gallery in New York City during October, 2011. A spin off of these works are to be shown next year and will feature the Art of Opera during the Ring Cycle at the San Francisco Opera House.
