Every spring the Summerall Guards perform a unique ceremony where they pass the rifles down to the Bond Volunteer platoon. The rifle exchanging ceremony serves to signify the Bond Volunteer ascendancy as Summerall Guards. The ceremony also allows the senior class to make one last performance for parents, friends, and alumni. Upon receiving rifles, the new Summerall Guards publicly perform for the first time. This prestigeous cerimony is on the Saturday of Corps Day Weekend every year.
The Summerall Guards have performed at various functions including: Azalea Festival Wilmington NC, The Charleston Air Force Base Open House, The Cherry Blossom festival in Washington D.C., The Columbia Christmas Parade, The Charleston Cup, Homecoming Weekend, The Gasparille Festival in Tampa, The Jacksonville Jaguars Pre-game, Mardi Gras, Parent's Day (football half-time performance), The Presidential Inaugural Parades, St. Patrick's Day in Savannah, Columbia Veteran's Day Parade, and Walt Disney World to name a few.
