Planted salad cucumbers and yellow squash side by side on a fence line. Used 8-8-8 fertilizer with cotton seed hull as a soil additive. Lots of yazoo clay in the soil. The two closest plants of each species produced the mutant fruits. The other cucumbers and yellow squashs are normal in appearance and taste. The garden is in Jackson, Mississippi.
Also planted tomatoes and banana peppers. They appear to be normal except for one tomato with this long appendage thingee growing from the top of it. Looks a little like a long, red haggy witch's nose, when the tomato is held a certain way. I let Momma eat that one. ; )
