This is a cluster of Date Creek Amethyst Scepters that was collected in the mid 1980's. It is one of the best cluster of crystals ever collected at this locality. The crystals show well developed amethyst scepter overgrowths as well as parallel overgrowths on the prism faces. The crystals were collected from a clay filled pocket that formed in a gas cavity of the host granite. Associated feldspars weathered to form the clay.
