James Kalm has been on vacation (not really, because I'm working ten hour days in the studio) and, returns to bring half-assed viewers a round-robin video tour of the season openers from some of Chelsea's most provocative galleries. Beginning with Erik Parker's latest selection of paintings "Bye, Bye, Babylon" at Paul Kasmin, we then move to Susan Hamburger's "Pants on Fire" at Schroeder Romero & Shredder. Trying to beat the clock we scurry across Chelsea to pop in for the New York debut of California artist Julian Hoeber. This "Report" wraps up with an undercover walkthrough of an exhibition by Richard Tuttle at Pace. A musical introduction by Hunnabee and the Sandy Tar Boys gets things rolling.
