Once again, the recording of this race only began at about lap 75... but there's probably a reason for that. We were new to NASCAR...

I've been a NASCAR fan since 1995, and it was my sister's trip to this very race that started my obsession that continues to this day. She came back from the trip she made with a few friends, showed us some pictures, told us about her favourite driver Jeff Gordon, yada yada yada, I finally had something fun to look forward to on Sundays. We went as a family in '96, and have been going there since then. Great facility, if I may say so myself.

The only thing I really missed by not recording the whole race was a wreck by Dale Jarrett on the 6th lap, or so. Sorry about that one!

This is the race in which Jeff Gordon infamously missed a shift on a restart with 7 laps to go... do yourselves a favor, and crank your speakers when it happens live in this clip - you can hear the engine getting punched in the gut... very cool.

Also of note, this race featured one of my favourite paint scemes of all time - Bill Elliott's Thunderbat... come to think of it, most every scheme from '95 kicked ass.
