ISRAEL21c's intrepid correspondent heads to the Tel Aviv shore to find out what the heck Israelis love (or hate) about this paddle sand sport.

Israeli guys -- and the occasional gal -- don't feel a day at the beach is complete without a spirited game of Israeli paddleball, a.k.a. matkot. Why do players love this homegrown sport, and how do sunbathers stand the occasional ball whacking them in the head?

Molly Livingstone takes us to the Tel Aviv shore in a hilarious look at how Israelis really feel about the ubiquitous sand sport.
