The application provide various options to insert or delete the characters in the file names.

Using the application, you can insert text at the position, you want to insert. Application provide various option for the position, where you want to add the text. These options are: at beginning, at end, at any specific position in the filename, at before or after any specific text.

If you want to add the text before or after any specific character but that character occur more than once in the filename for ex: Filename is renamer01, renamer02 etc and you want to rename files as re-test-namer01,re-test-02 etc. Since there are two ''e" in the filename and you want to add ''-test-'' after first ''e'' and not after second ''e''. Winsome File Renamer provide the option, where you can specify the occurrence of the character/text, where you want to insert. In above example, you need to mention the occurrence as 1.

Similarly, the application provide the option to delete no of characters from the filename. You can specify no of characters you want to delete and from which position you want to delete the characters. You can also delete the characters from backward. This delete the characters from the end of the filename.

The application becomes much more user friendly due to the auto-preview window. Any change that you are suggesting, the application will generate a preview automatically to let you know, how file names will look before you actually rename them.
