December 23rd is the annual "Noche de Rabanos" (Night of the Radish) in Oaxaca, Mexico. The event takes place in the zocalo and showcases local artists who carve an unusually large radish into celebrations of local culture. Thousands and thousands of people come down to see the art, sample the local cuisine (very imaginative, fresh and delicious), hear local live musicians and just enjoy being outside in the nighttime. Kids from under a year to over 100 years old enjoy the event. Spectacular. Delightful. Amazing. Fun!
