UTAH - + Video – A bill allowing the growth, use and sale of medical marijuana in the state of Utah is up for review again this year by the Health and Human Services Interim Committee at the state capitol.
Proposed by Utah Senator Mark Madsen last year as Senate Bill 259, the new version would also allow medical cannabis produced to be grown, sold and ingested by those patients with an illness justified by a licensed professional for medical purposes. The bill would allow dispenseries to administer the cannabis for those with medical marijuana prescriptions.
One Utah mother who lost her son to a driver under the influence of marijuana, plans to speak out against the proposal. Erin Worland is against the idea because it’s hard to enforce it’s use and abuse. She still mourns the loss of her son who was tragically taken four years ago while walking to school.
