Mental illness is an invisible scar on the lives of many families and individuals who suffer in shame and silence. After the Newtown tragedy in 2012, one mother shared her family's painful truth in a blog post entitled "I Am Adam Lanza's Mother." As a result of her decision to share their story, her son got treatment and today their family has hope for a bright future. Now, she speaks out about the urgent need to change the system and why mental health continues to matter to everyone, not just people with mental illness.
