In this series of short films, we follow some of the members on their personal journey in Samyo -- from the audition process, through to leadership.
In this film we follow Jessica's story as she learns from one of her musical heroes, Rakesh Chaurasia, at Music India in 2012.
Samyo is the National Indian Music Youth Orchestra. It is a unique phenomenon, as it is the only youth orchestra to combine both north and south Indian music traditions with contemporary orchestral elements, and to showcase brand new compositions, written by some of the world's finest musicians such as Bombay Jayashri, Gaurav Mazumdar, Shashank Subramaniam and Jayanthi Kumaresh. Samyo is the first of its kind in the world of Indian music, presenting a new genre of orchestral Indian music that is both classical and contemporary. www.milapfest.com/samyo
