About an app called "Skout" where users can freely flirt and "opt-in" to share their locations via GPS, and now the app is under fire because it was recently discovered that a THIRD child was raped by a man posing as a teenager in the app's section for "13-17 year olds"...

I wonder what would happen if two molesters tricked each other and then met up...

that's not how you pronounce waukesha
I haven't used this app, but I am thinking about using it really soon...I would guess (and I could be wrong) that one of the benefits of this app having the location information access associated with a specific user would be that, for example, it could reduce the possibility that a profile is fake and is created by some scammer in Nigeria. I have been tricked in the past. On a different website, I started talking to this one white female. I am a 27 year old male. After initally chatting, she gave me her email address and stated for me to contact her that way instead of through the website. I emailed her, and she responded back, and we continued exchanging emails with each other. She stated, and her profile stated, that she lived in the same state as I. After some email exchanges, she then wrote back stating that she was visiting her sick grandma (who was having cancer) in Nigeria, she was running low in funds, and was wondering if I could send some money to her in Nigeria to help pay for her grandma's treatment therapy. I knew right away it was a total scam, and I didn't send any money to that person.

or you could just, like, you know, not hide behind a screen and go out and meet people

parents need to be parents. they are partially to blame for buying there child a fancy expensive phone, and for not monitoring there children. if there isnt one yet, there should be an app that parents can install on the phone that blocks any age restricted app unless the parent puts in a secret code. not a guarantee, but it at least puts more responsibility on the parent.

rapers gonna rape...
Twitter apps can post/update your GPS coords per post, cameras can and do add your gps coords to a photos EXIF data. I don't think this app should be removed if they are making an effort to try and keep it available to adults. Minors continue to get their hands on liquor so you should remove all alcohol containing beverages from the market so that it can never be used by people outside it's intended market?
