In March, 2010, , Seminole Gulf transferred locomotive #580 to the Northern line, replacing two completely worn out GPs. The Seminole Gulf Railway short line interchanges with CSX at the Tropicana Orange Juice plan in Bradenton, FL, and then runs south for approx. 7 miles, then east 1/2 mile, then north, running just east of US 301 in Sarasota for about 6 miles. The railway usually operates on Tuesdays, starting mid-morning, but can sporadically be viewed on other weekdays. The Seminole Gulf also has a much more significant operation from Arcadia to Ft. Myers, Florida. The two lines do not connect any longer.
