Valvoline Instant Oil Change: Announces campaign to raise money for childrens hospitals
Local Stores will Sell Miracle Balloons to Benefit Childrens Miracle Network
(March 19, 2009)—Valvoline Instant Oil Change, a division of Ashland, Inc., and Childrens Miracle Network, an international non-profit that raises funds for childrens hospitals, have teamed up to make miracles happen for sick and injured kids in communities across the country.
The fundraising campaign, which will run April 1 to 30, consists of Valvoline Instant Oil Change associates selling the Childrens Miracle Network signature miracle balloon icon to customers. Each balloon sells for just $1 and will benefit the local Children's Miracle Network hospital. Donations through Valvoline Instant Oil Change will help create miracles by funding specialized medical care, research and education that saves and improves the lives of children.
Childrens Miracle Network has raised more than $3.4 billion over the past 25 years, and most of that has been raised a dollar or two at a time by individuals who make donations by purchasing our Miracle Balloons, said Children's Miracle Network Chief Development Officer Brian Hazelgren. Our partnership with Valvoline creates an opportunity for new donors to contribute to their local childrens hospitals, ultimately benefiting the 17 million kids who are treated each year at Children's Miracle Network hospitals across North America.
The largest franchise of Valvoline Instant Oil Change, Great Lakes Quick Lube, headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin will join the campaign. Participation will include their 105 stores located in Wisconsin, Illinois, St. Louis, Kentucky, Iowa and Indiana. Jim Wheat, Chief Operator of Great Lakes Quick Lube said, We are thrilled about our partnership with the Childrens Miracle Network. Its a very worthwhile cause and very close to our hearts.
Valvoline Instant Oil Change is a new corporate sponsor of Children's Miracle Network, joining dozens of other brands that raise money for the charity, including Wal-Mart, RE/MAX and Dairy Queen, among others.
