What do 3400 nerds dancing their faces off look like? THIS.

It's what it will look like in 2012. Yes, it's official: there will be a LeakyCon 2012 and we will have details just as soon as we can on http://leakycon.com

So what's this? These are the final 10 minutes of the Esther Earl Rocking Charity Ball at LeakyCon 2011, a Harry Potter conference. LeakyCon raised more than $120,000 for charitable causes as well as celebrated reading and nerd culture like no other event in history. It took place over the weekend of July 13-17 at the Royal Pacific Resort in Universal Orlando, FL.

The ball is called the Esther Earl Rocking Charity Ball in honor of Esther Earl, a 16 year old friend to the community who passed away in 2010. It is in her honor that we pledge to love each other and dance HARD.

What does "Total Eclipse" have to do with Harry Potter? EVERYTHING! No, Total Eclipse began at a party of Leaky Cauldron staffers long ago, as a great finale song to get totally silly and dramatic to. Then through some accidental publicizing of this fact via YouTube, it became a special song to LeakyCon. It will always be danced to this way.

We post this video as a reminder of the amazing spirit and fun that was so overpowering at LeakyCon. We will always prioritize your experience, your fun, the community that gathers at special events like these. You all made that weekend absolutely extraordinary. Thank you! SEE YOU IN 2012!
