Here the third interview conducted by Shenmue Master at the MAGIC 2016 in Monaco on 27 February. An interview which this time focuses on Shenmue III, by the fans and for the fans. Thanks to Shibuya Productions, particularly Mr. Cedric Biscay as well as Suzuki-san for his great kindness.

17 In Shenmue I & II, Ryo has learned a lot within urban environments from people he met. While Shenmue III takes place in Guilin, in the interior of China and an inviolate environment, will Ryo be able to learn by being in touch with nature?

18 Many of us have appreciated the Shenhua's song in Shenmue II. Is Shenhua going to sing again in Shenmue III?

51 Shenmue I & II are introduced by an ancestral (and prophetic) poem recited by Shenhua. Can we expect a new poem for Shenmue III?

40 The last words of Ryo's father are addressed to his son and act as a recommendation: "Keep friends, those you love, close to you!". The friendship is indeed a theme strongly rooted in Shenmue I & II as the story is structured around the multiple Ryo's encounters. How will the approach to the friendship be adopted in Shenmue III?

46 After the friendship, we wanted to know if Shenmue III will be the opportunity to deepen the theme of father-son relationship (between Ryo and Iwao)?

58 Martial arts is a key element in Shenmue saga. Rather functional in Shenmue I (as Ryo uses them to defend himself), martial arts appear more philosophical and formative in Shenmue II. This way, the player is actively involved in the Ryo's learning of martial values. By the means of martial arts, did Yu Suzuki want to instill some moral?

57 To some extent, the "Magic Weather" was influential in the tremendous ability of Shenmue to immerse the player into the fictional world of the game. Remember, it was the real-time weather effects system. According the different prototypes, it appears that the weather will still play an important role in the environment atmosphere. What improvements and evolutions can we expect about the Magic Weather?

06 During the conference we just experienced, we could see three pictures illustrating three chapters from the Shenmue saga. The first chapter depicts Yokosuka while the second chapter is Hong-Kong & Kowloon. However the encounter with Shenhua in Guilin is associated with the chapter 5. So, what are the chapters 3 and 4?

45 The two first Shenmue have a thoroughly realistic approach. But the end of Shenmue II gives us a glimpse of mystical elements. How strong will the mystic be in Shenmue III?

56 For those who never played Shenmue 1&2 before, Yu Suzuki plans to introduce flashbacks which are important scenes to the story comprehension. How far he has pushed this idea?

18 About facial animation, will he make use of the Performance Capture?

49 During the conference, we just watched a video showing the new modelling of the Shenhua's house which was very similar to the one in Shenmue II. This leads us to the following question: Has Suzuki been able to get back all the preparatory work from the Dreamcast days?
